About YCS

Technology changes. Solving the right problem doesn't.

YCS Software was founded on a simple idea: technology should fit the business—not force the business to fit the technology.

That was true when YCS first began building custom software, and it's even more relevant today. Businesses have more technology choices than ever, and AI has introduced an entirely new set of possibilities. The challenge isn't finding technology. It's knowing where it can actually make a difference.

That's where YCS comes in.

Experience You Can Put to Work

Amy Youngblood, Founder and Principal Consultant of YCS Software

Amy Youngblood

Founder & Principal Consultant

YCS is led by Amy Youngblood, a software architect, consultant, and technology leader with more than 20 years of hands-on experience building software and helping organizations make technology work for their business.

Her career spans hands-on software development, client consulting, technical leadership, architecture, and leading development teams. The common thread: understand the problem first.

YCS brings senior-level technology experience to small and midsized businesses that may not need a large technology organization but still need someone who can understand the business, see the bigger picture, and turn an idea or challenge into the right solution.

Back to Where It Started—With a Lot More Experience

YCS isn't a company created because AI suddenly became popular.

It began years ago as a custom software consultancy, building solutions around the needs of individual businesses. Since then, technology has changed dramatically—and so has the experience behind YCS.

Today, YCS brings together those original custom-software roots with decades of experience in software development, consulting, architecture, technical leadership, cloud technology, and AI-enabled development.

The tools have changed. The goal hasn't: build the right solution for the way your business works.

A Practical Approach to AI

AI is creating genuinely useful opportunities for businesses. It's also creating a lot of noise.

We believe the best place to start isn't “How can we use AI?”

It's: “What could work better?”

Sometimes AI will be part of the answer. Sometimes automation, an integration, custom software, or an existing product will make more sense.

Our job isn't to sell you a particular technology. It's to help you understand what's possible and choose the approach that creates real value for your business.

Let's Figure Out What's Possible

You don't need a technical specification or a fully formed project to start a conversation.

Bring us the problem, the process that isn't working, or even the idea you're not quite sure what to do with yet.
